This Week In Podcasting: Oasis Are Back

You asked if any podcasts were celebrating the reunion. I said maybe...

As the Oasis reunion is (finally) taking place this week, a good listen to make sense of the band’s influence and impact is The Rise and Fall of… Oasis. Over nine thirty minute episodes, the series retells their band’s meteoric rise and subsequent fallout, featuring a mixture of archive interviews and insights from hosts Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq.

From the band themselves there’s Listen Up, originally released in 2019, which looks at the making and impact of the band’s album Definitely Maybe, which was released more than 30 years ago (sorry to make you feel old.)

The Oasis Podcast, an unofficial podcast that looks at the Gallagher brothers' band, is understandably going deep with the tour. With more than 300 episodes under their belt, their latest episodes look at the reunion setlist and feature interviews with superfans.

This weekend sees the second Crossed Wires podcast festival taking place in Sheffield, featuring notable speakers such as Michael Palin, Nish Kumar and Sara Cox and many more. We'll be featuring a round-up of best bits in next week’s column.
