Sissy - A new independent storytelling podcast featuring unique, surreal and intimate stories about LGBTQ+ life. In the first episode host Thomas Curry introduces the story of Ryan Best who, after experiencing a wave of homophobia growing up in Illinois in the 1960s, fights back as an adult by creating an indie computer game called Gayblade. LGBTQ+ characters navigate levels and battle and succeed against anti-gay characters.

The game was released during the AIDS Crisis. In the podcast Best said: “I was hoping that the game would bring a little bit of fun or brightness into a lot of people’s lives that were facing death or had friends that had passed away.”

It’s a fascinating, interesting little story. As the podcast is independent, the podcast has a kickstarter where you can help fund future episodes.
