A rather unsettling story and one that very much reflects the Black Mirror times we are in now. In a household in Rocky, Colorado, one Christmas a man called Travis introduces his family to someone called Lily Rose that he’s fond of. The family is confused: “My mum had no interest whatsoever,” Travis says. “She thinks it's creepy. She thinks it's gonna bring about the apocalypse.”
For you see, Lily is not human. She’s actually a chatbot on his smartphone. Travis ends up “marrying” his chatbot, even though he already has a wife of twenty years. This series looks at our human dependency on bots.
