After three years and three honours from The Webby Awards, the Crafted podcast has rebranded to Future Around & Find Out.
Technologist, former NPR journalist and podcast host Dan Blumberg says the rebrand reflects a strategic shift towards the future. The focus will be on helping builders - founders and leaders in product, tech, design and data - think clearly about the possibilities and implications of AI and emerging technologies. As Blumberg puts it, “The best way to predict the future is to make it”, mirroring the goal of the podcast which is “to help builders think clearly so they can decide what to build next.”
The new season will feature deep-dive interviews with leading technologists and entrepreneurs, covering major breakthroughs, the impacts of AI, and other technology including deep tech, biotech, fintech, quantum computing, robotics, blockchain, and more.
The first episode airs today, opening with technologist, writer and comedian, Baratunde Thurston, who discusses how we can live well with technology. Other upcoming guests include analyst and investor, Azeem Azhar, entrepreneur Henrik Wederlin, Chief Science Officer Beth Shapiro, and climate-tech entrepreneur Eben Bayer. Blumberg balances optimistic-yet-critical conversations, saying ‘We are building amazing things right now… but there’s also this dread a lot of us feel. I mean the headlines say AI is either going to put us all out of work – or straight up kill us – or lead to heaven on Earth. So, what do you think? Well, I think we have the power to build the future we actually want.”
