Your Next Podcast: Worst Case Scenario

The show for recovering true crime addicts

Wasting time looking for shows to watch and shows to listen to, is surely a first world problem of the highest order... But a problem nonetheless! It can almost drive you nuts. That’s why I’ve decided to take the pain away by sharing some of the brilliant things I have listened to - and which I think you will enjoy too. What a gift!

Every week, I bring you the first episode of a brand new podcast which I have tried and tested, ready for you to get stuck into.

Plus, if you follow Your Next Podcast, more great suggestions will appear in your favourite podcast app, and you’ll automatically create a failsafe list of 5-star shows to pick from. No more scrolling!

This week the show I am recommending is Worst Case Scenario hosted by Abi Clarke and Julia Stenton, who say the show is “for recovering true crime addicts who want to hear extraordinary true stories of life-changing events from the perspective of the heroes instead of the villains.”

It’s a really fun show - with some pretty unbelievable scenarios, from helicopter crashes, to bungee cords snapping to surviving seven lightning strikes. The hosts would clearly be hopeless in any emergency, but they’re trying to make notes should they find themselves in any of the pickles described… and they are funny at the same time. I love it.

The episode I am going to play for you is about a family whose sailing boat is capsized by a pod of orca - it’s called The Robertson Family Part 1. Warning  - the theme tune is a serious ear worm…
