Trendy by Tortoise - You know that an election season is just around the corner when Sir John Curtice starts making appearances on news programmes. He’s an oracle not only on the latest polling data, but also the issues that are shaping such polling.

He’s now fronting a new podcast (music to political geeks ears!) alongside Rachel Wolf, who runs a policy consultancy in Westminster. In each episode they both explore the latest trends (hence the name of the podcast) but aim to take a longer view, explaining the long-term trends that show how the country is changing. The first episode taps into this, with reflections on the British Social Attitudes survey by NatCen, a report considered to be “public opinion version of the census.”
