The Price of Paradise - An engrossing and edge-of-your-seat story about two women who decided to actually do the thing that many of us have thought of doing at one time or another: jack everything in and head abroad.
Only everything starts to go wrong. Very wrong. After moving to a private island in Nicaragua, they get plagued by sand flies. Then they have to purchase guns because their island is often visited by drug runners because their island is often a stop off point for them. Then they make enemies with the locals who say that the island does not belong to them. And that’s just the beginning.
Bizarrely, the whole thing was filmed for a Channel 4 show, so you’re able to hear everything unravel. “There will be moments in this story when you will want to pull off your headphones and stamp on them,” says the show’s narrator Alice Levine, from British Scandal and My Dad Wrote A Porno. “And maybe cry out on the bus and in the car: no!”The first episode is available to listen to now, with future episodes available for a short time exclusively on Wondery+.
