Podcasts that look back at problematic television shows are all the rage at the moment, from Unreal: A Critical History of Reality TV to Harsh Reality: The Story of Miriam Rivera (I also made one, called The Bachelor of Buckingham Palace, looking into a fake Prince Harry dating show.)

This engrossing series hosted by Nick van der Kolk explores a British dating show where 12 people were offered an extraordinary reality television opportunity, only for it to not match with their expectations. The podcast purposefully does not tell you what the show was about to start off with (and I won’t be revealing it either) but trust me, you would have heard about it, and maybe have watched it back then. And it is a show that never would have been made today.
