You might think that we need more knowledgeable people, rather than ignorant people, in charge. But this new six part BBC series hosted by Rory Stewart, from The Rest is Politics and Leading, argues that ignorance is not actually a bad thing. In fact, it can be an asset to society, rather than a liability.
“Knowledge can distract us, mislead us, endanger us,” Stewart says. He feels ignorance can foster creativity and ambition, as well as freeing us from the same ideas. Stewart is joined by some of the smartest thinkers to explore the idea.
Of course, you might acquire a lot of knowledge from listening to this series. I guess if you want to be truly ignorant you could just ignore it and get on with your day.
