An inventive little series fronted by the poet, writer, broadcaster and Mancunian David Scott. Each episode looks at notable moments from Manchester’s past and how it has resulted in the city we have today. Each ten minute episode weaves in a well curated mix of archive reports, interviews and spoken word.
The first episode looks at the bomb by the IRA that exploded in Manchester in 1996. Thankfully, there were no casualties. “Aside from the structural damage, there was the damage they did to the psyche of the population, that we had been attacked.” From there it looks at the dark side of the city, such as the rise of gang culture, but also Manchester’s vibrant and celebrated music and nightclub scene.
