Dwelling - There’s nothing like the feeling of being at home. But as the cost of living causes difficulty and the housing market continues to get squeezed, many more people are looking at alternative ways of living. This series, created by Marnie Woodmeade, explores such alternatives, from nomads who live out on the open road, to the boat dwellers who live on canals (fun fact: more people now live on canals than during its industrial heyday.)
Marnie is a great storyteller and interviewer, and you learn a lot about the people she speaks to. There’s also an episode on Eel Pie Island, which was once England’s biggest commune, which you can only access by boat. “I am a firm believer that in order to understand what is happening now, you need to look back in time,” says Marnie.
