Podcasts come together for a week of hope

It's the first time something like this has been tried in podcasting

Some of the biggest podcasts in the UK and across the world are coming together for a week of hopeful conversations. The Be Hope takeover is timed to coincide with next week's 80th UN General Assembly and features big shows welcoming important guests to discuss reasons to remain hopeful in challenging times.

Part of an initiative to shine a light of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, the Be Hope campaign includes shows such as The Rest Is Politics: Leading, Pod Save the UK, Electoral Dysfunction and Outrage and Optimism.

Meanwhile guests appearing on shows or submitting questions to discuss include England rugby captain Maro Itoje; Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales; Former Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, director Richard Curtis and Choose Love founder Josie Naughton.

Episodes will be appearing throughout the week, with some already out, so keep an eye and ear on your favourite podcast app.

The full list of shows taking part is:

The Sustainable Development Goals are a set of targets agreed by the United Nations in 2015 with a deadline of 2030 for their accomplishment, meaning we're currently 2/3 of the way through the allotted time. However, we're just 20% of the way there. Goals include ending poverty, providing clean water and sanitation for all and ensuring sustainable consumption and production.
