Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett are joined by beloved British star Keira Knightly for a festive episode of Dish from Waitrose, the UK’s most talked about foodie podcast.
Following the launch of this year’s highly popular Waitrose Christmas advert 'The Perfect Gift', Knightly shares behind-the-scene notes on kissing co-star Joe Wilkinson. "We were both minty fresh" she laughs, "But like I said, I don't think I got beyond the beard. It is a thick beard. Yeah, it's an amazing beard."
On the topic of romance at Christmas, Knightly also discusses Love Actually, which she admits she has only ever seen once. Then onto her husband James' "methodical" cooking skills and their shared love of wine, with Knightly describing food as "the ultimate love language" and happily letting him take the lead in the kitchen.
Conversation turns to Christmas Day traditions including early mornings with her screaming children and her mum’s sticky toffee pudding, which Knightly says has a place in her heart.
Angela Hartnett cooks her way through the episode, delivering dish after dish, from a fennel and citrus turkey to stir fried sprouts and a grape salad with hazelnuts, chicory and parmesan dressing, all the while sharing her expert culinary tips.
