Louis Theroux is returning to podcasting with a new series of The Louis Theroux Podcast, promising what he describes as "a line-up of distinctive and scintillating conversations".
Launching on 9 June, the new season opens with broadcaster and former footballer Gary Lineker before welcoming Spice Girls star Mel C, celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and American journalist and filmmaker Andrew Callaghan.
Drawing on decades of interviewing people from all walks of life, Theroux has built a reputation for getting beyond the public image. Rather than tightly structured interviews, the podcast favours relaxed, free-flowing conversations that allow guests to reflect on their careers, personal lives and the experiences that shaped them.
That approach has helped establish The Louis Theroux Podcast as one of the UK's most popular interview shows since launching in 2023. Across seven series, Theroux has welcomed a mix of actors, musicians, athletes, filmmakers and cultural figures.
The show's archive includes conversations with Florence Pugh, Sean Penn, Willem Dafoe, Jade Thirlwall, Marina Abramović, Jimmy Carr and Bella Ramsey. More recent episodes have generated headlines for revelations from Boris Becker about his life away from tennis, Lulu's reflections on her relationship with David Bowie, and Bridgerton star Simone Ashley discussing her rise to fame. Acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos also appeared to talk about his distinctive filmmaking career.
The newly announced guests suggest another wide-ranging series. Lineker remains one of Britain's most recognisable broadcasters, Mel C brings insights from life at the heart of one of the world's biggest pop groups, while Marco Pierre White continues to be one of the most influential figures in British food. Callaghan, meanwhile, has earned a large following for his immersive and unconventional style of documentary journalism. More guests are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
