Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake

“There’s been a little bit of a shakeup at the pearly gates” says Mel Giedroyc, who has taken over from Kathy Burke as the host of the very successful interview podcast where a newly “deceased” celebrity is quizzed and it is decided whether they go to hell or heaven.

They’re big shoes to fill, but Giedroyc does it with ease, adding in her trademark leftfield observational and deadpan (pun not intended) humour. Within a couple of minutes of interviewing her first guest, the comedian Suzi Ruffell, the pair end up discussing the merits of Stansted vs Luton airport. It’s a delight. All episodes are free, but there’s 20 minutes of additional chat for those who subscribe to the paid tier on Apple Podcasts.
