An interesting mash-up between two different popular podcasts that actually works! Here, Dan Jones from This Is History and Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail team up for a new series where they look at popular failures throughout history and whether their reputation as a failure actually holds up.
Their first episode starts with Richard III, who only had a 26-month reign, was accused of murder and for centuries was presumed lost (only to be discovered under a car park in Leicester). Yet he did have some accomplishments too, such as introducing trial by jury, translated many laws into English, and was deemed a progressive leader, respected by his peers. Dan and Elizabeth examine how failures can be as important in setting the course of history as great successes.
The debut episode is available on both Dan and Elizabeth’s feeds, with the rest of the run available on Dan’s. You can also unlock early access to episodes.
