The Today Podcast - I was initially a bit confused when BBC Radio 4 announced that the Today programme was launching its own spin-off podcast, simply because the BBC’s own Newscast does a fine job already at analysing the news.

But after a month on air, it is clear that The Today Podcast is a different beast altogether. Presented by Nick Robinson and Amol Rajan, the podcast explores one big news topic in a great level of detail once a week, with the same level of forensic analysis as you would expect from the breakfast programme. There’s also additional episodes, lifting the lid on how the radio show is put together. And, unlike the main show, there’s no clock watching, giving the analysis a little more space to breath.
