Thousands of kids living in poverty don’t have books in their own home, so the charity The Children’s Book Project is trying to rectify that by redistributing donated books in schools, nurseries and in the local community. To raise awareness, there is now a new podcast, where comedian Rachel Parris interviews a famous guest about the children’s books that made a big influence on them growing up to encourage you to donate your own. It’s a bit like Desert Island Discs but with books, which is particularly handy considering that Lauren Laverne is the show’s first guest.

Other guests over the series include Clare Balding, Anita and Stephen Mangan, Andi Oliver, Suli Breaks and Ivor and David Baddiel.
