Philippa Gregory’s Normal Women

Philippa Gregory’s Normal Women - The historical novelist Philippa Gregory has a new book out looking at women’s history since the Norman Conquest of 1066, to redress the balance of history books that are written about men. This accompanying podcast looks at how women’s lives have been changed within this time. “I’m interested not just in the famous heroines that we all know, but the women we don’t know,” says Gregory. “Everyday lives of ordinary women.”

This series delves into history, but there’s lots of  interesting modern case studies in this series too, such as the women who were arrested at the vigil for Sarah Everard. There are six eight episodes in total, with new episodes out every week.
