Usually, the Private Eye podcast talks about the stories that feature in the publication, weaving in the trademark insights and wit of Andrew Hunter Murray with the occasional appearance of magazine editor Ian Hislop.

For the next few days however, the podcast is handing over to celebrate the great work of others, featuring interviews with the investigative journalists shortlisted for their own annual Paul Foot Award. Named after the late and much celebrated campaigner, the nominees this year feature important stories on dangerous toxic lead infiltrating British soil, Lime bikes that might be too dangerous to cycle, and British carers taken to court even though they have declared their allowances. Episodes will be out daily until the day of the awards, before a special interview with the overall winner.
