It’s a celebrity interview podcast, but this new series by the singer Paloma Faith shines. The hook is that the guest talks about the times in their life they have been mad, sad and bad (hence the name of the title) and the territory the subject matter covers allows guests to become remarkably open about their personal lives and their struggles.
Mel B talks about how to recognise signs of abuse and coercive control in a relationship (“You don't wake up one morning and go, ‘I'm going to have a relationship with an abuser,’” she says. “Abusers, they find you. They find you when you're either at your most vulnerable or when you're either at your most happiest. And it's a challenge to them to see how they can get you and how they can then start to manipulate it.”) In another episode, Alan Carr talks about how his comedy developed as a shield from people.
