Toxic Town, Jack Thorne’s new drama on the Corby toxic waste scandal, has been at the top of Netflix's charts. The drama looks at how clean up of the town’s steelworks resulted in toxic waste being exposed to the community, resulting in children being born with limb differences, health issues and life limiting conditions.
This new BBC Sounds series, from BBC Radio Northampton, follows the story in-depth, featuring interviews with the people at the heart of their story and their long fight for justice. It also highlights the fact that the families are still waiting for a full apology. The host, George Taylor, has a personal connection to the story too, having been born with a deformed thumb and forefinger as a result of the scandal.
