Heirs of Enslavement - An interesting new series looking at enslavement and reparatory justice, hosted by Clive Lewis MP, a descendant of enslaved people in Grenada and Laura Trevelyan, a descendant of slave owners.

Trevelyan has recently publicly apologised to the surviving descendants of Grenada for her family’s historic role in enslaving more than 1000 people and said that she will donate £100,000 in reparations from her forthcoming pension. Meanwhile Lewis has spoken in the House of Commons about the need for the UK to enter negotiations with leaders of Caribbean nations to pay reparations for our historic involvement in the slave trade.

In this series both Lewis and Trevelyan head to the West Indies to speak to the people of Grenada on its history and the difference that reparations could make.
