Marking its 10th birthday this week, Radio Atlas broadcasts subtitled audio documentaries and audio from around the world, from Argentina to Uruguay. It’s a fascinating project, with an eclectic and engaging range of audio. Over the years, the series has won an array of awards and recognition.

Their latest episode ‘Old Lika Pathetic Symphony,’ is an atmospheric work recorded around Plitvice Lakes by Čedo Prica, Zvonimir Bajsić and Maksim Jurjević in Croatia in the winter of 1974 to 1975. It’s an experimentation of the possibilities of sound in audio, recorded on a tape recorder that weighed as much as a big bag of potatoes.
