A new series looking at the Novichok poisonings in the Wiltshire city of Salisbury, six years on. The first three episodes examine how nerve agent Novichok was used to poison former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the city centre and how those who dined in the same restaurant were told to wash their clothes ‘just in case’ they also came into contact with the agent. You’ll also hear from former Prime Minister Theresa May on how she reacted to the developments in Salisbury at the time, and why she believes it is doubtful that the Russians responsible will ever face trial.
From the fourth episode onwards, the series reports from the ongoing inquiry into the death of Dawn Sturgess, who died four months after the initial attack after using a discarded perfume bottle containing the agent. The series is presented by Andy Howard and Marie Lennon, local broadcasters who reported on the story back in 2018. New episodes will air as the Inquiry continues.
