A great new BBC Radio Ulster series explores the records that the BBC once refused to play: from Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “Relax” to The Shamen’s “Ebeneezer Goode.”

Hosted by Declan Harvey, the series takes a deep dive into the UK’s shifting attitudes toward taste and decency, as well as the events that led to these songs being banned in the first place. Thoughtfully chosen guests provide insight into the cultural context behind these bans, and listeners are treated to snippets of the once forbidden tracks throughout each episode. That part is a delight, given that it's the BBC itself that banned them in the first place.
