What is it like to jack your career in and become a zookeeper? It is the premise of this new series by comedian Abi Clarke who, in a new partnership with Chester Zoo, has become a trainee zookeeper for the next six weeks.

You learn a lot about animals in the podcast, such as that otters do indeed hold hands, but the joy of the series is hearing Abi being subjected to difficult challenges, such as sawing up dead fish to feed to animals, trying to weigh a flamingo and (predictably) cleaning up lots of poo. There’s a new episode every week.
