Music Uncovered: Genius – The Story of Coldplay

Music Uncovered: Genius – The Story of Coldplay - Coldplay received plaudits for their headline set at Glastonbury Festival last weekend, so what are the secrets for their success? There’s a lot in each of the 15 minute episodes presented by Greg James. You’ll hear about the origin of the song Yellow (the first lyric “look at the stars” was quoted from one of the band members observing the night sky) and Trouble (written during the frictions the band were having at the time).

You’ll also hear more about the band members you never see speak, and there’s an exploration of the culture of the band, such as why the way they collaborate and the reasons why they swerve excessive partying and drugs. There’s also contributions on the podcast from Glastonbury co-founder Emily Eavis, Stormzy and Maisie Peters.
