Harry Potter like you’ve never heard before

Hugh Laurie, Matthew Macfadyen and Riz Ahmed Record Harry Potter

Pottermore Publishing and Audible have just dropped a spellbinding announcement: Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions are officially coming, and the cast is nothing short of magical.

Launching 4th November 2025, these immersive, full-cast productions will reimagine J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series like never before—complete with rich sound design, original music, Dolby Atmos audio, and over 200 voice actors bringing Hogwarts to life.

At the helm of the cast? None other than Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, and Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall. Acclaimed stage and screen actor Cush Jumbo OBE will narrate the series.

And yes, a new generation of young actors will voice Harry, Ron, and Hermione—starting with Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton for books one to three, followed by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis from book four onwards.

The first audiobook, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, drops 4th November. Each of the seven books will release monthly, wrapping up with Deathly Hallows on 12th May 2026. With more than 2,000 recording hours logged so far, Audible promises a listening experience that blends cinematic atmosphere with fan-favorite moments and a few surprises along the way.

“Magic is coming alive” said Rachel Ghiazza, Chief Content Officer at Audible. “Hearing these spellbinding performances in our state-of-the-art studios has been nothing short of extraordinary.”

Hugh Laurie echoed the excitement: “I’m honoured to have been trusted with the keys to Albus Dumbledore, and thrilled to be able to take him around the track of this beautiful incarnation”

These new editions won’t replace the iconic single-voice audiobooks narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale—which have logged a staggering 1.8 billion listening hours since launching on Audible in 2015—but they’ll offer fans a bold new way to experience the Wizarding World.

Expect even more casting announcements this autumn, as well as trailers, previews, and behind-the-scenes audio.

This production joins Audible’s growing slate of cinematic audio experiences, including 1984 with Andrew Garfield and Cynthia Erivo, and the upcoming Pride & Prejudice starring Glenn Close and Harris Dickinson.
