This week the show I am recommending is The Missing, hosted by writer and journalist Pandora Sykes.
It’s an almost unbelievable fact that in Britain alone someone is reported missing every ninety seconds. Most are thankfully found, but ‘The Missing’ tells the stories of the 1% of cases which remain unsolved. This show is now in its fifth season, and is completely addictive.
Each week, Pandora tells the story of a person who has gone missing, through interviews with their family and friends. It’s a haunting show in some ways, because it leaves you with so many unanswered questions.
The show is made in association with charities who search for missing people, and the hope is that the episodes keep some attention on the cases. By listening, you do feel that maybe, just maybe, you could help someone to be found.
The episode in the show is the first in the fifth season and is all about a man called Steven Clark, who vanished on a walk with his mum, when he was 23 years old.
