Three popular classic podcasts return

...or do they?

There’s lots of big podcasts to talk about this week.

Firstly, Answer Me This! The podcast that came about in the early hedonistic days of British podcasting in 2007, hosted by Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann, is returning with new monthly episodes. The podcast has a simple concept, where listeners send in questions and Helen and Olly try their hardest to answer them, using anecdotes and research.

The joy is not just the answers, but also the interesting and quirky questions, the first one in the latest series being “which museum has the best gift shop in the world, and why?” If you have got a burning question that you want them to answer, drop them a message at answermethispodcast@googlemail.com

The British Podcast Award winning Brown Girls Do It Too is also back. Hosted by Rubina Pabani and Poppy Jay, the series has won legions of fans for the way that it features honest, thoughtful and relatable conversations about navigating the world as British Asian women. And since their last series, they both have a lot of new stuff to talk about. Rubina is now a mother of two children and Poppy is fresh into a new relationship. Episodes are out weekly.

The third, and the most mysterious return, is David Tennant Does a Podcast With… The interview series by the acclaimed actor was a real tonic during the early weeks of the pandemic, with rich conversation and a great selection of guests such as Olivia Colman and Cush Jumbo.

A 12 second episode was uploaded earlier this week, simply consisting of Tennant saying “is this thing still on?” and nothing else. Nothing is official, but it feels like a return doesn’t it?
