With less than 100 days until the Olympics (and of course, a busy Summer ahead with the Paralympic, Wimbledon and Euro 2024 too) let’s look at some new sports podcasts.
There have been a batch of new sports podcasts lately so here’s a quick recap.
Heroes & Humans in Football unpacks the biographies of some of the most well-known people in football and their legacy. Hosted by Mehreen Khan, Economics Editor at The Economist and Financial Times columnist Simon Kuper, they have just started a two-parter on Arsène Wenger and how his reputation has taken a knock. “What is it about Wenger when he was great, and then he stopped being great,” asks Kuper.
On I Did A Runner, Josh Patterson speaks to people who talk about how their lives have changed after getting into running. Recent interviews include Olympic and World Champion middle-distance runner Josh Kerr, world champion triathlete Beth Potter and mental health ambassador and physician Dr Alex George.
The Jack Murley Sports Show features interviews with LGBTQ+ sportspeople and the difference they have made, whilst The Sports Agents have a special episode this week looking at race representation within sport and what lessons need to be learnt.
