TV personality Vicki Pattison has launched a new series of her podcast featuring stories of people who have been the victims of scams, deception and betrayal, all tied to dating and relationships.

Pattison has a lot of empathy for the victims in her interviews with them, highlighting the sophistication of such deception and how our vulnerability in relationships can allow us to become deceived. In an interview with Priya (not her real name) who shared her story about how she was conned out of £100,000 and family heirlooms, Pattison responds “I've been engaged three times. I am married now, but I love love. I can see how that would have happened here, because he’s saying all the right things, isn’t he?”

It’s a sensitively handled topic, with the full series available on BBC Sounds. “By shedding light on this issue, we hope to empower others who may be going through something similar to recognise the signs, seek help, and find the courage to speak out,” says Pattison. “No one should suffer in silence.”
