I love small local podcasts that tell a story or reflect a community really well. Last week, we featured a delightful series looking at people’s jobs and passions. This week, there’s a fantastic series looking at the history of Walthamstow Assembly Hall, a legendary concert hall that was built during the Blitz.

Hosted by 96 year old Angela Allen MBE and the historian Professor John Thomas, this immersive and fantastically produced podcast looks at its construction. The hall became known for its legendary acoustics, being the location of a speech by Churchill, as well as a performance by Pavarotti. Anyone interested in architecture or history will find it a delight.
