Vine: Six Seconds That Changed The World

A well produced and unexpectedly engrossing series looking back at the dramatic rise, and the equally unexpected fall, of the social media app Vine. Embraced by Twitter, this was the video sharing app that paved the way for TikTok with its mixture of videos featuring comedy and creativity, with a limit of six seconds per video uploaded.

So if TikTok is currently the most talked about social media platform, featuring the ethos of what made Vine so popular, how did Vine fall apart so quickly? “I've long been baffled by how something so popular, so foundational, so universally beloved, never even turned a profit,” says host Benedict Townsend. “And folded entirely before its third birthday.”
