I never thought I would be typing this in my career, but canals seem to be having a moment. There’s been a rise of television and podcasts on the subject, and this relatively new podcast by Adam Porter is up there with the best.

Each episode follows Porter on a trip in his narrowboat down some of the most well known canals of England and Wales, featuring interviews with those who live, volunteer or visit on these waterways. It provides a realistic reflection of canal living, whilst also providing a soothing and a little bit nerdy (in a good way) listen.
