The Butterfly King is the latest offering from Blanchard House and follows a trail of dissidents, poisoners and soldiers to find out who killed King Boris III of Bulgaria. It’s a masterfully told WW2 tale of family drama, political intrigue and pure treachery.. Which is a bit like the The Crown crossed with Sherlock Holmes. It also does a wonderful job of explaining why this tiny country in southern Europe was so important and why everyone from the Nazis to the Soviets wanted a piece of the pie.. And it is full of palaces and poisonings. Please leave us alone to binge in peace.
