In 2024, the residents of Omagh, County Tyrone, were confused when a constant low hum could be heard in the area. Weirder still, the source of the hum couldn’t be easily located, because complaints were sent in from a wide area.  

This new podcast tries to get to the bottom of it, whilst also looking at the history and community of Omagh itself. “Home is where the hum is.” says the host Phil Taggart, so the first interviewee in the series just happens to be his Mum. He asked her what the hum sounded like. 

“A hum” she replied.
