Just over a year ago we featured an informative podcast all about how to improve our brain power and help our mental health, brought by chartered psychologist Kimberley Wilson. She’s now branched out to this new BBC Sounds series, also looking at the mind, which looks at how to live your life with a bit more calmer and with a bit more balance.
One episode I found really interesting unpacked the perils of perfectionism, and how a simple drive to improve our work can often lead us chronically disappointed, a result of an internal bully telling us we're not good enough. Then of course, there’s the missing out of social time that perfectionism often causes. “It gets in the way of the stuff that helps you to feel good,” says Wilson. “And it leaves you constantly chronically disappointed.” Stick around for a deep dive into causes, and how to overcome them.
