Between 1991 and 2005, eight female sex workers were murdered in and around Glasgow. While Iain Packer was recently jailed for the murder of one of these women, Emma Caldwell, four of the cases remain unsolved.
This thoughtful series by reporters Collette McGonigle and Callum McQuade looks at why these cases have remained unsolved by speaking to victims’ families.
The series also explores whether the police took these deaths seriously, and why these women felt their best protection came from each other, rather than the authorities.
