Desert Island Discs: Postcards

A really nice idea, this. Between new episodes of Desert Island Discs, the BBC has gone through its extensive archive to handpick some moments from interviews over the years. Moments that will stop you in your tracks.

There’s Davina McCall talking about her experiences of addiction (“some people can take drugs and then put them down and then walk away and have an adult life never having touched them again, and some people pick up the drugs and can’t put them down and that was me”), George Michael on how a head injury made him get into music and Ian Wright on his inspirational teacher Mr Pigden (“He just gave me the feeling that I had something in use.”) The episodes, only a few minutes each, are available to listen to on BBC Sounds.
