Intrigue - To Catch A Scorpion - A new BBC Radio 4 series exploring people smuggling and in particular, the organised crime gangs who earn millions from transporting migrants across the English channel and the implications for the migrants who risk their lives on these journeys and with that, depend their lives on. This series will tell you a lot you didn’t know about an issue that often dominates the news.

“Smuggling large numbers of migrants across the English Channel in small boats is a relatively new thing, it only really took off in 2019,” explains BBC journalist Sue Mitchell. Joined by former soldier and aid worker Rob Lawrie, they attempt to track down one of the organised crime gang leaders who features in one of the world’s most wanted lists: Barzan Majeed (also known as Scorpion.)
