The British Podcast Awards took place earlier this week.
Podcast of the Year (and Best True Crime Podcast) went to Kill List, a captivating series by Wondery and the podcast company Novel, looking at murder-for-hires and a list of threats that existed on the dark web. “The hard-hitting investigation made national headlines on release and was praised by the judges for its forensic reporting and gripping storytelling,” the judges said.
Best Hosts went to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett for their interview series Dish, where guests come over for a chat whilst Angela cooks. Elis James and John Robins won the Best Comedy Podcast, for their popular 5Live show.
And The Listeners Award, which is the award voted by readers of this newsletter, went to Betwixt the Sheets: The History of Sex, Scandal & Society.
