Strangers on a Bench

10:06 AM GMT+1 on October 13, 2024

Strangers on a Bench - Sitting idly on a bench before being interrupted by someone saying that they are making a podcast and asking whether they could interview you does sound like an extremely London podcast idea. Yet, this concept by the musician Tom Rosenthal works, because of his engaging questions and unpredictable conversation.

Each interviewee is anonymous, which adds an unexpected level of intimacy to each chat. And it makes you think about all the interesting life stories you might miss out on because this is a city where strangers don’t tend to talk to each other. It seems to have taken significant inspiration from the podcast Where Are You Going? By Catherine Carr.
